About me
Hi, I’m Mafalda.
I recently completed my degree in Biomedical Engineering at Instituto Superior Técnico and the Data Analyst Internship Program at Mayerfeld Consulting. I am currently pursuing a Postgraduate Programme in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at IADE.
My academic background taught me how to approach complex problems with analytical thinking, scientific rigour and attention to detail. Over time, I became increasingly interested in the value that data can bring to both healthcare and business decision-making.
Through academic, personal and internship projects, I have gained practical experience in data cleaning, exploratory data analysis, statistical testing, SQL databases and interactive dashboard development.
I am now working towards beginning my professional career in data analytics, where I hope to continue developing my technical skills while contributing to meaningful, data-driven projects.

Data Analysis — Python, pandas, NumPy, data cleaning, exploratory data analysis and statistical hypothesis testing.
Databases — SQL, PostgreSQL and SQL Server, including data extraction, filtering, aggregation, joins and relational database design.
Data Visualisation — Tableau, Matplotlib and Seaborn, with a focus on interactive dashboards, data storytelling and communicating actionable insights.
Additional Tools — Foundational experience with Excel and Power BI for data preparation, analysis and visual reporting.

Completed a hands-on programme focused on solving business problems through data analysis.
- Analysed customer, transaction, session and campaign data using Python.
- Cleaned, transformed and validated datasets before analysis.
- Used statistical methods to test business hypotheses and evaluate relationships between variables.

Beyond Data
Outside of data, volleyball has shaped much of who I am. As an athlete and coach, it has taught me leadership, resilience and the value of trusting the process — qualities I bring to every project.
