About me

I’m a Junior Data Analyst with a background in Biomedical Engineering, currently completing my degree at Instituto Superior Técnico in Lisbon. I’m transitioning into Health and Business Analytics — driven by a genuine curiosity for what data can reveal and a commitment to making that knowledge useful to others.

My approach is calm and structured. I take ownership of my work and care about communicating findings clearly, whether I’m talking to engineers or to people with no technical background.

Skills

Python — data manipulation, analysis and visualisation using pandas, matplotlib, seaborn, NumPy and pingouin.

SQL — querying relational databases (PostgreSQL), including extraction, filtering, aggregation and joins.

Power BI — building dashboards and visual reports focused on data exploration and insight.

Excel — data preparation, visualisation and analysis.

Experience

Beyond the technical side, I’ve built a varied set of real-world skills. Since 2022 I’ve worked as an Accounting Assistant, handling document management, invoices and expense records — which sharpened my attention to detail and discretion with sensitive information.

Since 2021 I’ve been a certified Volleyball Coach (Degree 1) at Cascais Volley4all Academy, coaching multiple age groups, planning training sessions and competing in national and international events. It’s taught me a lot about leadership, decision-making under pressure and getting the best out of people.

Earlier in my degree I volunteered as an online tutor through IST’s BiomExplica project, helping secondary school students build confidence in challenging subjects. I also spent a year on the Events Team of the IEEE-IST Student Branch, where I helped organise workshops and networking events, managed budgets and ran social media.

Gamified Health Questionnaire (Final Degree Project) — Designed and built a gamified web-based health questionnaire to improve user engagement and the reliability of healthcare data. The project involved a full Python data pipeline for ingestion, validation and cleaning of real-time responses, a SQL Server database schema optimised for integrity and performance, and automated System Usability Scale (SUS) metrics for quantitative UX feedback.
